1. Renting Golf Carts in San Pedro & Placencia
On Ambergris Caye (San Pedro Town) and parts of the Placencia Peninsula, golf carts are the official mode of transportation.
Carts range from 4-seaters to 6-seaters. A valid driver's license is strictly required to rent or drive a golf cart, and DUI/seatbelt laws apply identically to standard motor vehicles.
2. Mainland Car Rentals & 4x4 Advice
Major rental car companies (Crystal Auto Rental, Hertz, Alamo) operate right outside Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE). Renting a 4x4 SUV allows complete freedom to explore Mountain Pine Ridge, waterfall trailheads, and border ruin towns.
