When to
Visit
From sun-drenched beaches to lush tropical jungles.
The Two Belizes
Belize is a land of eternal warmth, but its character shifts significantly with the rainfall. Broadly speaking, the country has two main seasons: the Dry Season (late November to May) and the Green (Rainy) Season (June to November).
Choosing the "best" time depends entirely on your priorities. If you want blue skies and calm waters for diving, the dry season is king. If you prefer smaller crowds, lower prices, and lush, vibrant jungles, the green season offers incredible value.

Insider Travel Strategy
If you are planning a trip to the ATM Cave or other cave systems, remember that they can occasionally close during the Green Season if water levels rise too quickly for safety. Always build a "flex day" into your itinerary if visiting between July and October.
For whale shark enthusiasts, time your visit for the full moons in May or June. These majestic giants gather near Gladden Spit specifically around these times to feed on spawning fish eggs.
Regardless of when you visit, pack one light sweater or windbreaker. Even in the heat of Summer, the boat rides back from the reef or the evenings in the Mountain Pine Ridge can feel surprisingly chilly.
